Climate change is one of the main problems in the contemporary society and this is reflected by the numerous actions that present-day institutions take with the purpose to either slow it down or stop its effects entirely. The September 23, 2013 Climate Summit provided the world with the opportunity to gain a more complex understanding of the concept and to learn more about the actions that state leaders were willing to take on in order to address the matter.

According to President Obama, the U.S. is particularly concerned about taking on attitudes that are going to have a positive effect on the environment. Considering that the country has a history of being among the world's largest pollutants, this makes it possible for the masses to acknowledge the degree to which climate change has become a general problem -- more and more influential bodies have acknowledged the need to be reserved when it comes to damaging the natural environment.

Even with the fact that there are numerous countries that express interest in lowering greenhouse gasses emissions in order to stop climate change, the financial conditions of these respective powers make it difficult for them to actually do something about it. Some of the world's strongest economies are obviously going to suffer significantly as a consequence of adopting green strategies. This means that many international players reevaluate their position and are hesitant about actually going through with implementing these respective strategies.

The future certainly looks bleak when considering climate change and the effects it's having on the world. However, it would be safe to say that international powers have started to get actively involved in fighting the process. This is largely due to the fact that it reached a point where it's affecting everyone and it would be difficult for someone to escape.
